Return to Mike and Ma Bell Page,
Back to Pacific Bell Page

This letter was written when I found out my phone listings were incorrect or missing for the eighth time. It may be interesting as it talks about the first time I found out this had happened (when it took five weeks to get my listings corrected), and what impact having my home address listed in error can have upon my business. (My listings are supposed to show only my P.O. Address.)

AT&T denies being able to tell me who is doing this, how these errors and omissions keep occurring in my telephone listings, or when they happen. Apart from finding out later that a customer had trouble finding me or thought I had gone out of business, the only way I can determine whether my listings are correct is to check directory inquiries myself, an expense that adds up in time and phone charges. Do you have these sorts of chronic phone listing problems?
